When sentient beings come in contact with the light of Amideva, the three kinds of defilements disappear in them. Their bodies and minds become supple and gentle. They become full of joy and enthusiasm, and positive thoughts arise in them.
Even if they find themselves in one of the three lower realms or in the travail and sufferings of this Saha world, if they see this radiant light, they find repose and relief and never again are subject to sorrow and afflictions.
After their life span comes to its end, they are led to liberation.
